We are seeking a proactive, self-directed Cognitive Rehabilitation Specialist to join our team serving clients across Northern New Jersey . Role Overview This is a specialized clinical skill-building role providing home- and community-based neurorehabilitation services to adults recovering from traumatic brain injury (TBI) or acquired brain injury (ABI). You will work 1-on-1 with clients across local North Jersey communities to rebuild independence, establish daily routines, and strengthen executive functioning skills.
Please Note:
This is an active clinical rehabilitation position ( focused on cognitive training, goal execution, and community integration ). This is NOT a direct personal caregiver, home health aide, or companion role.
Work Structure & Hybrid Flexibility In-Person Field Work:
1-on-1 sessions take place in clients' homes and local community settings across Bergen, Passaic, Essex, or Union counties.
Remote Flexibility:
Case documentation, team meetings, treatment planning, and specialized clinical training are completed remotely from your home office.
Schedule:
Flexible, part-time hours designed around client session schedules. Key Responsibilities Conduct 1-on-1 cognitive rehabilitation therapy sessions in real-world home and community settings. Develop compensatory strategies for attention, memory, time management, and problem-solving. Assist clients in building daily routines, managing appointments, and navigating community resources safely. Foster self-awareness, emotional regulation, and adaptive coping skills. Complete timely clinical progress notes and collaborate virtually with the Client Services Liaison and interdisciplinary treatment team.
Qualifications Education:
Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Social Work, Special Education, Rehabilitation Counseling, Human Services, or a closely related field.
Experience:
Background working with adults with TBI/ABI, behavioral health, developmental disabilities, or community-based human services.
Requirements:
Valid driver's license, reliable personal vehicle, and active auto insurance for local travel between client sites.
Skills:
