Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) - Outpatient Pediatrics We are seeking a compassionate, dependable, and emotionally intelligent Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our outpatient pediatric therapy team. Full-time or part-time opportunities are available. We are looking for someone who genuinely enjoys working with children, values teamwork, and wants to continue learning and growing professionally. Our pediatric population includes children with a wide range of developmental, sensory, behavioral, emotional, and functional needs.

Schedule Monday-Thursday Clinic hours:

9:00 AM-7:00 PM Full-time or part-time opportunities available No Fridays or weekends Responsibilities Provide skilled occupational therapy treatment under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist. Carry out individualized treatment plans addressing fine motor skills, sensory processing, self-care, coordination, regulation, attention, play, and functional participation. Build positive and therapeutic relationships with children and their families. Address challenging patient behaviors in a healthy, calm, mature, and therapeutic manner. Demonstrate emotional intelligence, self-awareness, patience, and professionalism during challenging situations. Utilize appropriate redirection, sensory strategies, environmental modifications, and therapeutic approaches to support patient participation. Adapt treatment sessions to meet the individual needs of each child while continuing to work toward established goals. Complete accurate and timely documentation. Communicate professionally with supervising therapists, coworkers, families, students, and other members of the care team. Accept feedback and supervision positively and use it as an opportunity for professional growth. Participate in ongoing training and continuing education. Contribute to a positive, collaborative, and supportive workplace environment. Qualifications Current COTA license or eligibility for licensure in Alabama. Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program. Pediatric experience preferred, but we are willing to support the right candidate who is motivated to learn. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Dependable, organized, and professional. Ability to appropriately manage challenging behaviors such as refusal, emotional dysregulation, aggression, difficulty with transitions, or limited participation. Ability to remain composed and solution-focused when a session does not go as planned. Strong emotional intelligence and ability to communicate concerns appropriately rather than reacting emotionally. Ability to receive constructive feedback and make adjustments when needed. Willingness to ask questions, seek guidance, and continue developing clinical skills. Ability to work independently while also functioning effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team. Pay:

$25.00 - $30.00 per hour Expected hours: 9.0 - 36.0 per week
