The role collaborates with therapists, educators, and families to implement individualized interventions and track progress.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist occupational therapists in developing and implementing individualized therapy plans for students. Support students during therapy sessions, demonstrating activities and providing encouragement. Document student progress, record observations, and update electronic health records accurately. Collaborate with teachers and parents to coordinate interventions and share progress reports. Maintain a safe and organized therapy environment, ensuring equipment is prepared and sanitized.
Qualifications:
College Diploma A.A. or higher or transcripts (60 or more credits). Must obtain and maintain COTA license issued by Arizona Board of Occupational Therapy. 1 year of experience in occupational therapy assistance. Valid driver's license (front and back). Valid Arizona Identity Verified Prints (IVP) Fingerprint Clearance Card (front and back). Social Security Card. Must be able to work day shift. Must meet all background check requirements. Setting in a school environment. Good communication skills and ability to work with children and educational staff. Physical ability to assist in therapy activities as needed.
