Job Description

Overview South Bay Post Acute Care is looking for a dedicated and compassionate Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our team. The ideal candidate will work collaboratively with occupational therapists to provide high-quality patient care in various settings, including clinics, acute care facilities, and home health environments. This role is crucial in helping patients achieve their rehabilitation goals and improve their daily living skills. Duties Assist occupational therapists in implementing individualized treatment plans and care plans for patients. Provide direct patient care, focusing on activities of daily living (ADLs) to enhance patients' independence. Monitor patient progress and document changes in their condition or response to therapy. Educate patients and their families about therapeutic activities and home exercises. Maintain accurate records of patient treatments, progress notes, and medical terminology as required. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care. Participate in the development of treatment goals based on the patient's needs and capabilities. Support patients in both inpatient settings and outpatient clinic environments. Qualifications Current certification as an Occupational Therapy Assistant from an accredited program. Knowledge of physiology and medical terminology relevant to occupational therapy practices. Experience in occupational health, acute care, or home health settings is preferred but not required. Strong understanding of patient care techniques and the ability to assist with ADLs effectively. Excellent communication skills to interact with patients, families, and healthcare professionals. Ability to work as part of a team while also being self-motivated and organized. Commitment to providing compassionate care and improving the quality of life for patients. Pay:
$36.00 - $45.00 per hour
