Job Description

Job Summary Join our dynamic healthcare team as an Occupational Therapy Assistant, where you will play a vital role in supporting patients' recovery and independence across diverse settings. Your energetic and compassionate approach will help individuals of all ages improve their daily functioning, whether in inpatient hospitals, outpatient clinics, skilled nursing facilities, or home health environments. This paid position offers a unique opportunity to collaborate with licensed occupational therapists and make a meaningful difference in patients' lives through personalized care and innovative therapy techniques. Duties Assist licensed occupational therapists in developing and implementing individualized care plans tailored to each patient's needs. Support patients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including dressing, grooming, feeding, and mobility exercises to promote independence. Provide hands-on therapy interventions for diverse populations such as pediatrics, geriatrics, and patients recovering from acute or chronic conditions. Help facilitate therapy sessions in various settings including inpatient units, outpatient clinics, skilled nursing facilities, and home health visits. Monitor patient progress, document observations accurately, and communicate updates to the supervising therapist to refine care strategies. Assist with patient education on injury prevention, ergonomics, and health maintenance within occupational health programs. Maintain a safe and clean environment by adhering to infection control protocols and safety standards during all therapy activities. Skills Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology to effectively support patient care. Experience assisting with ADLs and providing care in home health or outpatient settings. Familiarity with acute care environments, inpatient units, skilled nursing facilities, and clinic operations. Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams to develop comprehensive care plans. Excellent communication skills for engaging with patients of all ages—pediatrics to geriatrics—and their families. Demonstrated understanding of occupational therapy principles related to physical rehabilitation and functional independence. Adaptability to diverse clinical environments such as medical imaging centers or outpatient clinics specializing in occupational health services.
