In this role, you will work closely with licensed occupational therapists and physical therapists to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care across diverse settings, including inpatient units, outpatient clinics, skilled nursing facilities, and home health environments. Responsibilities Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as grooming, dressing, and mobility to promote independence and comfort for patients. Support pediatric occupational therapy interventions for children with childhood developmental delays and autism spectrum disorder, utilizing specialized techniques. Conduct patient transport within facilities or to external appointments while ensuring safety through manual handling practices. Document care activities accurately and thoroughly in care documentation systems, maintaining compliance with healthcare standards. Collaborate with healthcare professionals—including physicians, nurses, and therapists—to optimize treatment outcomes and update care plans regularly. Assist in medical imaging procedures when applicable, supporting diagnostic processes as part of comprehensive patient care. Engage in patient care activities across various settings such as acute care units, outpatient clinics, skilled nursing facilities, and home health visits. Communicate effectively with clients and caregivers to explain treatment procedures, progress updates, and care instructions. Support treatment plan implementation for clients with neurodevelopmental disorders or disabilities by applying specialized occupational therapy techniques. Requirements Proven experience working in inpatient settings or outpatient clinics within skilled nursing facilities or hospital environments. Strong knowledge of physiology and anatomy relevant to occupational and physical therapy practices. Experience working with individuals with neurodevelopmental disorders, disabilities, or age-related conditions such as geriatrics. Familiarity with medical terminology and documentation standards required for healthcare settings. Ability to assist with ADLs and perform manual handling safely while supporting patient mobility and transfers. Prior experience in pediatric occupational therapy or occupational therapy for clients with autism is highly desirable. Excellent communication skills for engaging effectively with clients of all ages and collaborating seamlessly with healthcare teams. Knowledge of care plans development and implementation tailored to individual patient needs across diverse populations including pediatrics and geriatrics.
