POSITION SUMMARY
Responsible for the delivery of quality care to the patient/resident/client as directed by the Occupational Therapist(s) treatment plan.EDUCATION
(must be required for position), LICENSE, CERTIFICATION andEXPERIENCE
1.Education:
High school diploma or equivalent required, Associates degree associated with COTA program 2.Licenses:
Must have a current State of Colorado license in good standing. 3.Certifications:
Must be Certified as an Occupational Therapy Assistant as approved by the American Occupational Therapy Association. Current BLS Certification, or receive within 30 days of hire 4.Experience:
No experience required, new grads encouraged to apply.REQUIRED SCREENINGS
1. Drug Screen 2. Physical Assessment 3. Tuberculosis screen 4. Background check (Criminal, Civil, Educational, Previous Employment, etc.) 5. Driver Record screen (positions requiring on-the-job driving)ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Reliable and punctual attendance is essential; expected to be at job as scheduled each scheduled day.
- Communicate necessary information to others as appropriate.
- Deliver occupational therapy services as planned, delegated and directed by Occupational Therapist.
- Document services provided.
- Report the condition of the patient/resident/client to the care team(s).
- Display critical thinking skills to assess and provide care to individual patient care needs.
- Provide care to assure compliance with insurance carries that is medically justified and skilled.
- Comply with ethical standards of practice and follows the Colorado State Practice act.
- Assist with orientation and in-service training for department staff members. Participate in training and educational programs.
- Train personnel, utilizing on-the-job training for nursing and other hospital staff, as well as departmental staff.
- Other job related duties as assigned.
GENERAL DUTIES
- Willingness to work weekends for inpatient hospital care as assigned.
- Willingness to fill in at all rehabilitation department facilities when staffing patterns require.
- Maintains patient/resident/employee privacy and confidentiality at all times.
