This is not a routine clinic-based COTA position. Our work takes occupational therapy into workplaces, community settings, and real-life situations where cognitive, sensory, behavioral, and functional skills directly affect a person's independence and future. We serve adults with autism, brain injuries, neurological conditions, intellectual and developmental disabilities, mental health conditions, and other barriers affecting employment and community participation. Our services connect occupational therapy, cognitive rehabilitation, vocational development, and meaningful real-world outcomes. What You Will Do Under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist, the COTA will: Implement individualized occupational therapy and cognitive rehabilitation interventions. Help adults strengthen attention, memory, processing, planning, organization, problem-solving, emotional regulation, and task completion. Teach compensatory strategies, visual systems, routines, adaptive techniques, and assistive tools. Support adults with autism in developing self-regulation, flexibility, communication, sensory management, and workplace participation skills. Use sensory-informed approaches that are respectful, practical, and appropriate for adult environments. Address work readiness, safety awareness, endurance, pacing, time management, executive functioning, and independent task performance. Practice skills in workplaces and community settings where clients will actually use them. Adapt activities, instructions, tools, and environments to meet individual learning needs. Collect objective data, document progress, and communicate clinical observations to the supervising Occupational Therapist. Collaborate with employment specialists, job coaches, employers, families, case managers, and other treatment professionals. Help develop and expand EVI's occupational therapy and cognitive rehabilitation programs. Minimum Qualifications Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program. Current NBCOT certification as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant. Current Colorado COTA license or eligibility to obtain one before beginning clinical services. Ability to work under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist. Strong clinical observation, communication, organization, and documentation skills. Reliable transportation and willingness to travel to approved workplace and community locations. Ability to complete all required background checks and credentialing. Experience in cognitive rehabilitation, autism services, adult sensory processing, neurological rehabilitation, intellectual and developmental disabilities, mental health, vocational rehabilitation, assistive technology, or community-based care is preferred but not required. Candidates are not expected to bring expertise in every area.
