We primarily serve older adults living with neurological and orthopedic conditions, and we pride ourselves on delivering compassionate, high-quality care that supports safety, independence, and participation in meaningful daily activities. Position Overview We are seeking a skilled, dependable Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our team and provide in-home occupational therapy services. The ideal candidate is compassionate, clinically confident, and comfortable working independently in the home setting while collaborating closely with the supervising Occupational Therapist and interdisciplinary care team. Key Responsibilities Provide in-home occupational therapy treatment under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist. Implement the established occupational therapy plan of care. Provide training and intervention related to activities of daily living (ADLs), including dressing, grooming, toileting, bathing, and other functional tasks as appropriate. Provide functional transfer and mobility training as it relates to daily activities and independence in the home. Address balance, coordination, strength, endurance, activity tolerance, and upper-extremity function within the occupational therapy plan of care. Provide therapeutic activities and neuromuscular re-education as appropriate. Assist with positioning, wheelchair management, adaptive equipment, and durable medical equipment. Educate patients, family members, and caregivers regarding safety, home routines, adaptive strategies, and functional independence. Monitor patient response to treatment and communicate changes or concerns to the supervising Occupational Therapist. Document treatment sessions accurately, thoroughly, and in a timely manner. Preferred Qualifications Current Florida COTA license. Graduation from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program. Experience working with older adults and/or patients with neurological or orthopedic conditions. Experience with ADL training, functional mobility, caregiver education, and home-based occupational therapy preferred. Strong clinical judgment and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently while maintaining effective communication with the supervising OT. Excellent communication, documentation, and patient-interaction skills.
