Duties Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), such as dressing, grooming, feeding, and mobility to support their independence and well-being Implement treatment plans designed by licensed occupational therapists, ensuring adherence to prescribed goals and protocols Conduct pediatric occupational therapy sessions focused on childhood developmental delays and autism spectrum disorder interventions Support patients in acute care settings by facilitating mobility, patient transport, and manual handling procedures while maintaining safety standards Collaborate with healthcare professionals—including physicians, physical therapists, speech therapists, and caregivers—to coordinate comprehensive care strategies Document patient progress accurately in care records, ensuring compliance with medical terminology and documentation standards Engage in client and caregiver communication to educate on therapy techniques, progress updates, and home care strategies Qualifications Valid certification as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant or licensure as an Occupational Therapist in accordance with state regulations Proven experience working with individuals with neurodevelopmental disorders, disabilities, geriatrics, or in pediatric occupational therapy settings Demonstrated knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical imaging procedures (if applicable), and medical terminology Experience working in inpatient facilities, outpatient clinics, skilled nursing facilities, or home health environments preferred Strong skills in assisting with ADLs, developing care plans, and implementing treatment strategies for clients with complex needs Excellent communication skills for engaging effectively with clients of all ages and collaborating seamlessly with healthcare teams Ability to perform manual handling safely and efficiently while maintaining patient comfort and safety Embark on a rewarding career where your skills make a meaningful difference!
