Responsibilities Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as dressing, grooming, and mobility to promote patient independence Implement treatment plans designed by occupational therapists for clients with neurodevelopmental disorders or physical disabilities Help facilitate patient transport within facilities and ensure safe manual handling during therapy sessions Document care activities accurately and maintain detailed care documentation in compliance with healthcare standards Collaborate closely with healthcare professionals—including physicians, physical therapists, speech therapists—to optimize patient outcomes Communicate effectively with clients and caregivers to explain therapy procedures and progress updates Skills Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to occupational therapy practice Experience working with individuals with neurodevelopmental disorders, disabilities, in geriatrics settings Skilled in assisting with ADLs and implementing treatment plans in skilled nursing facilities.
