Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our dynamic healthcare team. In this vital role, you will work closely with licensed occupational therapists to deliver high-quality, client-centered care across various settings, including inpatient units, outpatient clinics, skilled nursing facilities, and home health environments. Your expertise will help clients of all ages—pediatrics, geriatrics, and individuals with disabilities—achieve their maximum functional independence through tailored therapy interventions. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference in patients' lives by assisting with activities of daily living (ADLs), implementing treatment plans, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to promote optimal health outcomes. Duties Conduct pediatric occupational therapy sessions focused on childhood developmental delays and neurodevelopmental disorders, including autism spectrum disorder. Help patients navigate their recovery process in acute care settings by providing hands-on support during medical imaging procedures or patient transport when necessary. Document care activities accurately and thoroughly in care records, adhering to healthcare regulations and standards for care documentation. Utilize knowledge of physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology to assist in delivering safe and effective therapy interventions across diverse patient populations. Practice manual handling techniques safely when assisting patients with transfers or mobility exercises to prevent injury for both clients and staff. Engage actively in outpatient or clinic environments by supporting therapy sessions for clients with disabilities or geriatrics, ensuring a positive therapeutic experience. Communicate clearly with clients and caregivers to explain treatment procedures, progress updates, and home exercise programs that promote ongoing recovery at home or in community settings. Experience Hands-on experience assisting with ADLs and implementing treatment plans for pediatric clients with childhood developmental delays or neurodevelopmental disorders like autism spectrum disorder. Familiarity with acute care procedures including patient transport, medical imaging support, and inpatient rehabilitation protocols. Knowledge of occupational therapy practices within geriatrics and occupational health settings is advantageous. Strong understanding of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and care documentation standards necessary for effective client care delivery. Experience working collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams to develop comprehensive care strategies tailored to individual client needs. Ability to communicate effectively with clients of all ages and backgrounds—especially those with disabilities or complex health conditions—to foster trust and engagement throughout the therapy process.
Pay:
$43.00 - $45.00 per hour
