This contract position is designed to provide essential occupational therapy services during a maternity leave, supporting students growth and participation, particularly within self-contained autism programs. You'll work 3 to 4 days per week (totaling 21-28 hours weekly), collaborating closely with special education staff from mid-August (or as soon as possible) through late September.

Key Qualifications:

Completion of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant training program Certification or eligibility for certification by the Board of Registry of the American Occupational Therapy Association (COTA) Licensed or eligible for licensure as an Occupational Therapist Assistant in Illinois Experience with pediatric or school-based populations is strongly preferred Strong collaborative skills for work with multidisciplinary teams

Responsibilities:

Deliver occupational therapy services aligned with IEP goals to eligible students Partner with classroom and special education staff to foster student access and skill development Support students participation and functional skills within autism support programs Maintain accurate documentation of student progress and therapy interventions This onsite maternity leave coverage is an excellent fit for a COTA who gains satisfaction from helping students overcome challenges and grow in a supportive educational setting.
