Job Description
Franciscan Health Lafayette East Campus 1701 S Creasy Ln Lafayette, Indiana 47905 The Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant is responsible to the Department Director and supervising Occupational Therapist to provide treatment to the patient prescribed by the physician within the guidelines of the Occupational Therapy Practice Act and hospital and departmental policies and procedures. This position implements a plan of care to restore and enhance performance. This position also performs documentation and quality improvement as outlined in departmental policies and procedures.

New Grads Welcome Patient Care:
- Performs comprehensive occupational therapy treatment and related follow-up services including discharge planning.
- Trains and educates patients, family members and/or others to ensure understanding of treatment plan and goals.
- Provides occupational therapy, including selection and use of adaptive equipment.
- Reports patient progress and collaborates with evaluating therapist to implement the therapy plan of care.
Patient Records:
Documents and submits patient reports, patient education and charges within the established timeframe.Coordination of Care Collaboration:
Collaborates with patient and other healthcare personnel or outside agencies regarding coordination of care. Reports patient progress and collaborates with evaluating therapist to implement the therapy plan of care.Supervision:
Supervises Rehab Techs. Qualifications Required Associate's Degree Accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant Program None Occupational therapy experience Required 1 year Occupational therapy experience Preferred Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA)- State Licensing Board Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
