Job Description

Exciting contract opportunity available for a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) in the Kansas City area, servicing school-based settings. In this role, you'll provide crucial support under the supervision of district Occupational Therapists, working collaboratively to help students achieve their goals in daily living and school activities. Assignments may include working across 1-3 campuses, with flexibility to manage your own weekly visitation schedule.
Key Qualifications and Skills:
Associates degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program Active state licensure/certification as a COTA in Kansas (or eligibility to obtain) Previous experience in a pediatric, school-based, or educational setting preferred Strong communication and collaboration skills for working with OTs, teachers, students, and families Ability to manage time independently and travel between assigned campuses each week Comfortable adapting therapy activities to meet the varied needs of students Dedication to supporting students academic and life skills success
Primary Responsibilities:
Deliver occupational therapy interventions as directed by supervising OTs Assist with documenting student progress and updating treatment plans Collaborate regularly with occupational therapists to discuss student caseloads and outcomes Travel between assigned school sites weekly to provide in-person therapy Communicate progress to teachers, staff, and families in a professional manner Uphold all state, federal, and district policies and best practices Perks of this role include a flexible scheduleset by youto best balance campus visits and caseload needs, and the opportunity to make a direct impact on students' development and success.
