Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our dynamic healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in occupational therapy practices, with experience working across diverse settings such as inpatient, outpatient, skilled nursing facilities, and home health. Duties Assist licensed occupational therapists in developing and implementing individualized treatment plans tailored to each client's needs. Support clients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including grooming, dressing, feeding, and mobility to promote independence. Provide therapeutic interventions for pediatric clients with childhood developmental delays and autism spectrum disorder, utilizing specialized pediatric occupational therapy techniques. Facilitate patient care activities such as patient transport within facilities and manual handling during therapy sessions. Document care activities accurately and maintain comprehensive care records adhering to regulatory standards. Collaborate effectively with healthcare professionals—including physicians, nurses, speech therapists, and physiotherapists—to optimize treatment outcomes. Assist in care plan adjustments based on client progress and communicate effectively with caregivers and family members regarding treatment goals. Requirements Certification as an Occupational Therapy Assistant from an accredited program is required. Prior experience working with individuals with neurodevelopmental disorders, disabilities, geriatrics, or in settings such as inpatient hospitals, outpatient clinics, skilled nursing facilities, or home health is highly desirable. Demonstrated knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and occupational therapy techniques. Experience assisting with ADLs and implementing treatment plans for pediatric clients or clients with autism spectrum disorder is preferred. Strong communication skills for engaging with clients and caregivers effectively while maintaining professional documentation standards. Ability to perform manual handling tasks safely and competently within various healthcare environments. Acute care experience or familiarity with medical imaging environments is a plus but not mandatory.
