JAG Healthcare Harding is a 50-bed skilled nursing facility specializing in care for individuals with cognitive deficits and behavioral health needs. As a COTA at JAG Healthcare Harding, you will work under the direction of a licensed Occupational Therapist to help residents improve their independence, functional abilities, and overall quality of life. Who This Position Is Great For This position is ideal for a COTA looking to supplement their current schedule, maintain flexibility, or gain experience working with a unique resident population. We are looking for someone who is patient, adaptable, encouraging, and comfortable working with residents who may have cognitive or behavioral health needs. Responsibilities Include but are not limited to: Assist in implementing individualized occupational therapy treatment plans established by the supervising Occupational Therapist Provide skilled therapeutic interventions designed to improve residents' functional abilities and independence Assist residents with activities related to mobility, self-care, activities of daily living, coordination, strength, and functional skills Monitor resident progress and response to treatment Complete accurate and timely documentation of treatments and resident progress Communicate changes, concerns, and treatment outcomes to the supervising Occupational Therapist Assist with screenings, re-evaluations, discharge planning, and treatment plan revisions as directed by the Occupational Therapist Educate and encourage residents and families regarding therapeutic techniques and strategies as appropriate Collaborate with nursing, rehabilitation, and other members of the interdisciplinary care team Maintain resident dignity, safety, privacy, and person-centered care throughout treatment Follow all federal, state, professional, and facility standards and regulations Skills & Qualifications Current Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) license in the State of Ohio in good standing Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program NBCOT certification as applicable Strong communication, organization, and documentation skills Compassionate, patient, and resident-focused approach to care Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with the supervising Occupational Therapist and interdisciplinary team Skilled nursing, long-term care, cognitive care, or behavioral health experience preferred, but not required Ability to adapt treatment approaches to meet the individual cognitive, behavioral, and functional needs of residents Why Join JAG Healthcare Harding?
