Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) —
School-Based Contract, Flexible Schedule Location:
Northeast Philadelphia, PA Schedule:
2026-2027
School Year:
2 days/week, approximately 8:00 a.m.-3:30 p.m. (~7.5 hours/day)
Pay Range:
$40-$50/hour, based on experience

1099 Independent Contractor About the Role We are seeking a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our therapist-owned practice. This contract position provides on-site services at a special education school, supporting students ages 5-21. You will work under the supervision of an occupational therapist to help students build independence, develop functional skills, and fully participate in their school day. This is an excellent opportunity for a COTA who values flexibility, autonomy, and collaboration with the support of a small, therapist-led team, not a large staffing agency. Responsibilities Provide direct OT services under the supervision of the supervising OTR Support implementation of individualized treatment plans Assist with assessments of fine motor, sensory, self-care, and functional school skills Collaborate with teachers, staff, and families Recommend adaptive strategies and assistive tools Document student progress and maintain timely records Participate in team meetings and IEP reviews as appropriate Qualifications Associate's degree from an accredited OTA program Current Pennsylvania license as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA/L) School-based or pediatric experience preferred (other relevant experience welcomed) Strong communication, teamwork, and time management skills Ability to work independently as a contractor while staying connected to a supportive team What We Offer $40-$50/hour pay, depending on experience Flexible scheduling Paid for direct and indirect time Fully equipped OT room available for sessions Professional, respectful support from a therapist-led practice Access to clinical consultation if desired A role that allows you to focus on meaningful, student-centered work How to Apply Please apply through this job posting or send your resume and a brief note about your experience and interest to hello@thriveintegratedlearning.com .
