Pediatric Occupational Therapist (OT) or Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) McNeill Children's Institute — Portsmouth, Rhode Island Part-Time / Per Diem | Monday-Thursday, 4:00-7:00 PM Job Overview McNeill Children's Institute is looking for a happy, energetic, compassionate Pediatric Occupational Therapist (OT) or Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) to join our Portsmouth team for our busy after-school hours. Pick 1, 2, 3 or all 4 evenings after work to help others, have fun, and get paid! We are a fast-paced, progressive pediatric OT, Speech, Feeding, and Vision Therapy clinic serving children from birth through age 22. Our team treats a wide variety of diagnoses and needs, including sensory processing and regulation, fine and gross motor development, feeding, visual-motor and oculomotor skills, executive functioning, infant development, and activities of daily living. Training is a HUGE part of MCI. We want therapists who love to learn, collaborate, and grow. You will have opportunities to expand your pediatric skills and learn advanced treatment strategies while working alongside an experienced multidisciplinary team. We are looking for someone who genuinely enjoys children, brings positive energy to work, and wants to make therapy both effective and fun! Schedule Monday-Friday, approximately 4:00-7:00 PM We are especially interested in candidates who can consistently work several evenings per week. Additional hours may become available for the right candidate. Responsibilities Provide individualized pediatric occupational therapy interventions Address sensory regulation, fine and gross motor skills, visual-motor skills, self-care, feeding, executive functioning, coordination, and developmental needs Create engaging, functional, age-appropriate treatment sessions Educate and collaborate with parents and caregivers Work closely with OTs, OTAs, SLPs, and other members of our clinical team Participate in co-treatment when clinically appropriate Complete accurate and timely clinical documentation Provide home strategies to help families carry skills over into everyday life Maintain a safe, positive, organized, and engaging treatment environment Participate in training and continuing professional development within
MCI Qualifications For Occupational Therapists:
Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy program Current Rhode Island OT license or eligibility for Rhode Island licensure NBCOT certification as applicable
For Occupational Therapy Assistants:
Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program Current Rhode Island OTA license or eligibility for Rhode Island licensure NBCOT certification as applicable
For Both:
Pediatric experience preferred, but we are willing to train the right candidate Strong communication and teamwork skills Dependable and able to maintain a consistent after-school schedule Comfortable working in an active, fast-paced pediatric environment Compassionate, creative, energetic, and motivated to learn Why Join MCI?
