Position Summary The Contracted Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA/COTA) provides direct occupational therapy services to pediatric clients under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist (OT). Services may be delivered in the home, clinic, via telehealth, and/or in community settings (e.g., playgrounds, schools, community programs), based on client needs and authorized service models. This is a contracted (1099) position with the opportunity to transition into a full-time W-2 role as the Occupational Therapy program expands and client caseload increases. Clinical Responsibilities Provide direct occupational therapy services in home-based, clinic-based, telehealth, and community settings as outlined in the OT's plan of care Implement individualized treatment activities targeting: Fine motor skills Gross motor coordination Sensory processing and self-regulation Adaptive and self-help skills (feeding, dressing, hygiene, toileting routines, etc.) Classroom readiness and functional participation Adapt activities to fit the service environment while maintaining therapeutic integrity Collect accurate session data and document client performance across settings Promote generalization of skills across natural environments and daily routines Implement behavior support strategies in coordination with ABA staff when applicable Maintain therapeutic rapport, safety, and client dignity at all times Documentation, Billing & Compliance Complete session documentation according to clinic policy and payer requirements for each service setting (home, telehealth, clinic, community) Submit documentation within required timelines to support billing and audits Communicate promptly regarding: Missed or canceled sessions Client safety concerns Environmental barriers affecting treatment Maintain HIPAA compliance and confidentiality across all service formats, including telehealth platforms Participate in quality assurance, supervision reviews, and program audits as needed Collaboration & Professional Expectations Collaborate with: Supervising Occupational Therapist BCBAs, RBTs, and clinical leadership Caregivers and community partners as appropriate Participate in interdisciplinary meetings and coordination of care Communicate professionally and respectfully with caregivers within scope of practice Support caregiver education and carryover strategies as directed by the supervising

OTA/COTA
license in good standing (or eligible) Ability to provide services across multiple environments, including travel to homes and community locations CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain prior to start) Ability to pass background check and credentialing requirements Preferred Qualifications Pediatric clinic, home-based, or school-based therapy experience Experience with: Autism Spectrum Disorder Developmental delays Sensory processing differences Comfort providing services via telehealth platforms when appropriate Experience collaborating within ABA or multidisciplinary teams Physical & Environmental Requirements Ability to sit, stand, kneel, and move with children in varied environments Ability to lift and assist children safely as needed Ability to engage in active, play-based therapy indoors and outdoors Ability to adapt to different home, clinic, and community environments Compensation & Contract Structure Paid per billable hour or per authorized session (rate discussed during hiring) Independent contractor responsible for taxes and personal liability insurance if applicable Flexible scheduling based on client needs and availability across service settings Opportunity for increased caseload and potential transition to full-time employment as program grows Growth Opportunities This contracted position offers the opportunity to grow with FITGABA's expanding Occupational Therapy program. Contractors demonstrating strong clinical skills, reliability, and alignment with FITGABA's mission may be considered for future full-time positions as service demand increases.
