Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Optometric Technician to join our team. In this role, you will assist optometrists in providing exceptional eye care services to patients of all ages, including pediatrics. You will be responsible for performing various clinical tasks, ensuring a smooth and efficient patient experience while adhering to the highest standards of medical practice. Responsibilities Conduct preliminary eye exams and tests, including visual acuity assessments and measuring intraocular pressure. Assist in the fitting and dispensing of contact lenses and eyeglasses. Maintain accurate patient records using electronic health record systems, such as Revolution EHR. Educate patients on proper eye care techniques and the use of prescribed medications. Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality. Perform aseptic techniques when handling medical instruments and equipment. Document relevant medical history as required. Support the optometrist during examinations by preparing necessary equipment and instruments. Engage in sales activities related to eyewear products, providing recommendations based on patient needs. Help answer phones with excellent phone skills. Schedule appointments with accuracy. Maintain excellent communication between patients, doctor and coworkers. Skills Experience in a medical office setting is preferred, with a focus on optometry or ophthalmology. Knowledge of physiology and medical coding is advantageous. Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with patients and team members. Ability to perform tasks efficiently while maintaining attention to detail. Proficiency in using electronic health record systems, particularly Revolution EHR, is beneficial. Understanding of aseptic techniques and safety protocols in a clinical environment.
