Ophthalmic Technician (Back Office) Visionary Eye Institute | Part-Time or Full-Time available| Newport Beach, Laguna Woods, and Orange, CA. About Us Visionary Eye Institute is a multi-location ophthalmology practice serving communities across Orange County. We provide comprehensive eye care, from routine exams to advanced medical and surgical treatment, with a focus on patient-centered care and clinical excellence. Position Summary We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Back Office Ophthalmic Technician to support our physicians in delivering high-quality patient care. The technician works up patients, performs diagnostic testing, and keeps clinic flow running smoothly so providers can focus on care. We have both part-time and full-time opportunities available. Key Responsibilities Room patients and take accurate histories, including chief complaint, medications, allergies, and ocular/medical history Perform visual acuity, refraction/manifest refraction, pupil exams, confrontation visual fields, and IOP measurement (tonometry) Administer dilating drops and other ophthalmic medications as directed by the physician Perform diagnostic testing such as OCT, visual fields (Humphrey), fundus photography, A-scan/biometry, topography, and pachymetry Scribe and document accurately in the EHR during patient encounters Prepare exam rooms and maintain, clean, and calibrate ophthalmic equipment Assist with in-office procedures and minor surgical prep as needed Educate patients on testing, procedures, and post-visit instructions Maintain patient flow and communicate effectively with front office and physicians Follow HIPAA, OSHA, and infection control standards
