Job Description

The Pacific Neuroscience Institute is looking for a highly skilled and organized ophthalmic technician for an ophthalmology and neuro-ophthalmology clinic.
Requirements:
One (1) year of experience in an ophthalmology setting Education to meet certification, licensure, or registration requirement General knowledge of ophthalmic pharmacology preferred Job Responsibilities include: Perform HVF, OCT, fundus photography, auto-refraction and keratometry, tonometry, and other tests as needed Perform color vision testing Obtain succinct and precise medical history and intake Obtain distance and near visual acuities Use an auto and/or manual lensometer to obtain current eyeglass prescriptions including prism measurements Obtain vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, oxygen using an oximeter, height and weight Assist in scheduling patients as needed Respond to telephone messages in a timely manner Communicate with patients or pharmacies Proficient use of Epic, our electronic medical records system for charting, scheduling, staff and patient communication, documentation, and record-keeping Opening and closing duties Thoroughly disinfect the rooms in between patients and ensure the exam rooms are well-stocked and all supplies are replenished as needed Sterilize instruments Communicate efficiently with staff members via Microsoft Teams or otherwise Assist in surgery scheduling Order topical medications and other supplies for the clinic as needed Contact pharmaceutical reps to refill samples as needed Ability to multi-task in a growing, fast-paced environment Maintain a kind, friendly, and professional disposition with all patients and staff members Keep within the mission of
