GED Full Job Description Now Hiring:
Full-Time Ophthalmic Technician Are you passionate about eye care and providing top-tier patient experiences? We're looking for a full-time Ophthalmic Technician to join our team at Highlands Eyecare ! We are a full scope medical optometric practice. In addition to routine exams, we see eye emergencies, keratoconus, glaucoma and severe DES patients. If you have a strong work ethic, excellent communication skills, and a willingness to learn, we'd love to meet you!
Key Responsibilities:
Patient Interaction:
Greet and prepare patients for exams Document medical histories & chief complaints Educate patients on procedures to ensure comfort & understanding
Diagnostic Testing & Doctor Assistance:
Conduct vision assessments (visual acuity, color vision, etc.) Perform specialized tests (tonometry, fundus photography, OCT) Maintain a 75%+ capture rate for retinal imaging through patient education Assist in procedures such as Prokera, Lacrifill, and OptiLight IPL. Prepare exam rooms & assist doctors during procedures
Equipment & Contact Lens Management:
Operate, clean, and calibrate diagnostic instruments Process and track contact lens orders & maintain trial stock Assist patients with contact lens insertion & removal training
Documentation & Administrative Support:
Maintain accurate EMR records & ensure HIPAA compliance Schedule patient appointments & follow-ups Assist with insurance billing for exams & contact lenses Collaborate with healthcare professionals for co-managed patient care
What We're Looking For:
  • Strong attention to detail & ability to multitask
  • Excellent communication & patient care skills
  • Prior experience in optometry or ophthalmology is a plus, but we're willing to train the right candidate!
  • Prefered if bilingual in
