We are seeking an enthusiastic Optometric Technician/Optician to join our private optometry office. In this rewarding role, you will be the face of our optical services, working closely with patients to ensure their eye care needs are met with professionalism and warmth. Your skills will be essential in pre-testing patients before they see the doctor, assisting patients with their eyewear needs, and ensuring smooth patient flow throughout the practice.   • Greet and check in patients upon arrival, ensuring a warm and welcoming environment.
  • Perform preliminary tests such as autorefraction, visual acuity tests, visual fields, fundus photos, and tonometry as directed.
  • Perform advanced pre-testing techniques such as OCT, Lipiscan, and IPL treatment.
  • Educate patients on contact lens use and train patients on insertion and removal. Order contact lenses for our patients.
  • Guide patients with frame and lens selection. Place eyewear orders and bill insurance. Verify the accuracy, dispense, and custom fit eyewear.
  • Schedule appointments and manage patient records in our electronic health system.
  • Edge lenses on our in-office blocking and edging machines. Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with a friendly demeanor when interacting with patients.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Basic understanding of optical products and terminology related to eye care is helpful but can be trained.
  • The ability to use optical equipment and technology efficiently and accurately is helpful but can be trained.
  • Strong organizational skills, with a commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality.
  • Willingness to work as part of a dynamic team, supporting your colleagues and contributing positively to the workplace.
