Ophthalmic Assistant Job Overview Join our dynamic clinical team as an Ophthalmic Assistant! In this role, you will deliver exceptional patient care and support our ophthalmologists by performing pre-testing, managing clinical diagnostics, and optimizing patient flow. Key Responsibilities Patient Care & Clinical Support Conduct patient intake: gather medical history, measure vital signs, and update Electronic Health Records (EHR). Perform basic vision tests, including visual acuity assessments and preliminary refractions. Explain clinical procedures to patients, address questions, and foster a welcoming, supportive environment. Diagnostic Testing & Equipment Care Operate diagnostic equipment (A-scan biometers, tonometers, OCT, and ocular imaging devices) with precision. Assist ophthalmologists directly during patient examinations and specialized procedures. Ensure all clinical instruments and equipment are calibrated, cleaned, and maintained according to safety and manufacturer guidelines. Administrative & Practice Support Maintain accurate medical records while adhering strictly to HIPAA guidelines and clinic confidentiality policies. Assist with front-desk duties when needed, including patient scheduling and flow management.

Qualifications & Experience Clinical Knowledge:

Understanding of eye anatomy, physiology, and ophthalmic terminology.

Technical Expertise:

Hands-on experience operating ophthalmic diagnostic equipment (tonometry, A-scans, ocular imaging).

Experience:

Prior medical office experience, particularly in an ophthalmology or optometry setting, is highly preferred.

EHR Proficiency:

Familiarity with Electronic Health Record (EHR) management systems.

Patient Service:
