In person About Us Eyecare Express USA provides high-quality optometry services to patients across South Florida. Our mission is to make eye care accessible, efficient, and friendly. Position Overview We are looking for an experienced, hands-on Optical / Optometry Technician to join our team. This role requires prior optical experience, including the ability to pre-test patients independently. You will assist patients during exams, help patients select and purchase eyeglasses, and support smooth day-to-day clinic operations. Some daily travel within South Florida is required. This role is a strong fit for someone who enjoys variety, works well with people, and wants to be part of a fast-paced, service-driven healthcare team. Key Responsibilities Assist with daily clinic preparation and operations Perform patient check-in and pre-testing using optometry equipment Support the optometrist during clinic operations as needed Help patients select eyeglass frames and lenses and close eyewear sales Collect and accurately record patient insurance information Provide friendly, patient-centered customer service Required Qualifications Prior optical or optometry experience (required) Ability to pre-test patients independently using standard optometry equipment (visual acuity, autorefraction, tonometry, and similar) Sales or retail experience, ideally in eyewear or a customer-facing role Reliable car, valid driver's license, and ability to commute daily (some travel within South Florida required) Comfortable working with diverse patient populations Physically able to perform occasional lifting Organized, dependable, and able to follow daily operating procedures Strong communication and customer service skills Preferred (a Plus) Familiarity with health insurance, including Medicare, Medicare Advantage, and private carriers such as Aetna, UnitedHealthcare, and Blue Cross Blue Shield Experience verifying eligibility and benefits or collecting insurance information from patients Familiarity with vision plans (VSP, EyeMed) What We Offer Competitive compensation based on experience Opportunity to grow within a fast-growing healthcare company Meaningful work helping improve access to eye care Supportive, team-oriented work environment Benefits Health insurance Dental insurance Vision insurance Paid time off Employee discount
