Job Summary Join our dynamic healthcare team as an Ophthalmic Technician, where you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional eye care services. This energetic and detail-oriented position involves assisting ophthalmologists with patient examinations, performing diagnostic tests, and ensuring smooth clinic operations. Pay dependent on experience level. Responsibilities Conduct patient intake by gathering medical histories and updating electronic health records (EHR) systems Perform diagnostic tests such as visual acuity assessments, intraocular pressure measurements, and slit-lamp examinations using aseptic technique to ensure patient safety and accuracy Assist ophthalmologists during examinations by preparing equipment, maintaining sterile environments, and documenting findings with precision Manage medical records with strict adherence to HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality Maintain optical equipment and supplies, ensuring proper calibration and cleanliness for optimal performance Qualifications Proven experience in medical office settings with a focus on ophthalmology or optometry preferred; clinic experience is highly valued Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology related to the eye and visual system Familiarity with EMR systems; experience with medical coding and billing is a plus Excellent patient care skills with the ability to communicate clearly and compassionately across diverse populations including pediatrics Ability to perform intake procedures accurately while maintaining HIPAA compliance Knowledge of aseptic techniques necessary for diagnostic testing and equipment maintenance Join us in delivering outstanding eye care!
