OPTOMETRY

(BL-OPT-IUBLA) Job Summary Provides high-quality patient care. Supports Indiana University (IU) School of Optometry clinics. Uses specialized imaging equipment for patient care and student instruction. Transmits image data to databases and corrects system errors. Trains and supervises optometry students on clinical care and administrative policies. Schedules outside referrals and distributes exam records via fax, email, or mail. Works directly with faculty to optimize clinic-wide patient care. Collects federally required documentation and triages incoming patient concerns. Qualifications

EDUCATION

Required High school diploma or equivalent (such as HSED or GED).

WORK EXPERIENCE

Preferred 1 year of optometric technician experience. SKILLS Required Proficient communication skills. Ability to complete work independently. Advanced optical knowledge. Work Hours Most weeks up to 29 hours per week. Monday 8:00 AM-5:00 PM, Wednesday 8:00 AM-1:00 PM, Thursday 12:00 PM-5:00 PM, and Friday 8:00 AM-5:00 PM.
