We are a fast-paced, high-volume retina clinic seeking a motivated and dependable Ophthalmic Technician to join our clinical team. Prior ophthalmology experience is preferred, but not required . We are willing to train the right candidate who demonstrates a strong work ethic, eagerness to learn, attention to detail, and a genuine commitment to providing excellent patient care. This position will work at both our Baton Rouge and Gonzales clinic locations based on the clinic schedule. Applicants must have reliable transportation and be willing to work at either location. What We're Looking For Strong interest in patient care and healthcare Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume clinical environment Willingness and ability to learn new clinical skills Friendly, compassionate, and professional demeanor Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Dependable and punctual Detail-oriented and able to follow clinical protocols Comfortable using computers and learning electronic medical record systems Ability to multitask and maintain efficiency throughout a busy clinic day Team player who works well with patients, physicians, and coworkers Previous medical or ophthalmology experience is a plus, but not required Job Responsibilities May Include Preparing patients for physician examinations Obtaining and documenting patient medical histories and medications Checking and recording visual acuities Administering eye drops according to clinical protocols Performing ophthalmic diagnostic testing and imaging after training Assisting physicians during patient evaluations and procedures Accurately documenting information in the electronic medical record Preparing exam rooms and equipment Maintaining cleanliness and organization of patient-care areas Helping maintain efficient patient flow throughout the clinic We Will Train the Right Person You do not need previous ophthalmology experience to be considered. We provide hands-on training in ophthalmic terminology, patient workups, diagnostic testing, imaging, and the specialized clinical skills used in a retina practice. What we cannot train is reliability, a strong work ethic, professionalism, and a willingness to help the team .
