This role also includes cross-training in front desk and scribe duties to ensure flexibility and a cohesive team environment. Key Responsibilities and Duties Clinical Duties Perform patient workups, including taking detailed medical and ocular histories. Conduct diagnostic tests such as visual acuity, tonometry, visual fields, OCT, and fundus photography. Administer eye drops, dilating drops, and other medications as directed by the provider. Assist providers during examinations and minor procedures, ensuring patient comfort and efficiency. Maintain and calibrate ophthalmic instruments and equipment as required. Patient Education Educate patients on medications, treatments, and postoperative care. Provide guidance on the proper use of eyeglasses, contact lenses, and other visual aids. Answer patient questions and address concerns with professionalism and empathy. Administrative and Operational Support Ensure exam rooms are stocked, sanitized, and ready for use. Record and document patient information in the electronic health record (EHR) system. Assist with organizing and managing patient schedules to optimize clinic flow. Additional Responsibilities Cross-train in front desk duties, including greeting patients, scheduling appointments, verifying insurance, and handling payments. Cross-train in medical scribe duties, including documenting provider notes, patient symptoms, and treatment plans in the EHR system. Collaborate with the team to provide coverage during staff absences or high-demand periods. Support clinic projects or events, such as patient outreach and community education initiatives. Employees are expected to assist with additional tasks and responsibilities as needed to support the overall success and efficiency of the team and organization.
Pay:
$26.00 - $30.00 per hour
