Duties Assist physicians during ophthalmic patient examinations, including eye refraction, tonometry, and other diagnostic procedures such as A-scan and ophthalmic imaging equipment. Take and record vital signs accurately, including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and oxygen saturation levels. Prepare patients for their appointments by managing intake processes, updating medical records, and ensuring all necessary documentation is complete. Operate medical equipment safely and efficiently while adhering to aseptic techniques and clinical confidentiality policies. Manage electronic health records (EHR/EHR) systems to document patient information, exam results, and treatment plans accurately. Support patient service efforts by maintaining a welcoming environment, answering questions, and providing clear instructions on procedures. Uphold HIPAA regulations by maintaining strict patient confidentiality at all times during clinical and administrative tasks.
