ABOUT FIVE RIVERS HEALTH CENTERS
The Five Rivers Health Center is an expanding Federal Qualified Health Center located in Dayton and Xenia, Ohio providing a medical home for low-income patients. Position Overview The Optometric Technician performs a variety of tasks to assist the Optometrist in eye examinations and corrective procedures. The Optometric Technician records patient medical histories and helps with preparing the patient for the vision examination. General Responsibilities Assist the optometrist on duty by conducting and recording pretest data Interact directly with the patients Support patient flow and perform ancillary testing Responsible for daily maintenance of the exam/pretest rooms and maintaining monthly supply list Performs related duties as required Qualifications High School diploma or equivalent required Minimum of one year of experience in an optometry environment preferred Paraoptometric certification through the American Optometric Association preferred Must have excellent communication and customer service skills with patients of all ages Windows-based computer experience required Benefits Five Rivers Health Center offers a complete benefits package including medical insurance, dental insurance, vision insurance flexible spending accounts, health savings accounts with employer contributions, health reimbursement account, 9 1/2 paid holidays, 20 paid vacation & sick days, short-term disability, long-term disability, life insurance, wellness incentive, organization incentive, retention bonus, tuition discounts and 401(k) with employer contribution.
