Your responsibilities will include operating precision machinery, inspecting lens surfaces for quality, and ensuring that each lens meets the required specifications. This position requires a keen eye for detail, technical expertise, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of production. This is a Part-time position, working Monday to Friday 3:30pm to 6:30pm (might work until 7:30pm depending on work) Responsibilities 1.

Surface Processing:

Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot surface processing equipment used in lens manufacturing. Ensure that lens surfaces meet specified quality standards through regular inspections and adjustments. De-box lens, attach to blocks, move lenses to next station. Operate precision machinery, such as lens grinders, CNC, and Spin Coating. Inspect lenses during the polishing process to identify and address any imperfections or irregularities. Clean up after lens for next stage of lens process. 2. Maintaining Clean Workspace Keep the work area clean as you work. Empty garbage when necessary. Clean up after self when rotating to another station, or at the end of your shift. 3.

Quality Inspection:

Conduct thorough visual inspections of lens surfaces to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications. Utilize measurement tools and instruments to verify dimensions and characteristics of finished lenses. 4.

Equipment Maintenance:

Perform routine maintenance on shaping and polishing equipment to ensure optimal functionality and prevent downtime. Report any equipment malfunctions or issues to the department manager and maintenance manager for prompt resolution. 5.

Material Handling:

Handle lenses with care during the shaping and polishing processes to avoid damage or contamination. Adhere to proper loading and unloading procedures to maintain product integrity. 6.

Documentation:

Maintain accurate records of production activities, including lens specifications, machine settings, and inspection results. Document any adjustments made during the production process to improve efficiency or address quality concerns. 7.

Collaboration:

Work closely with other departments to communicate effectively and address production challenges. Participate in team discussions to share insights and contribute to continuous improvement efforts. 8.

Safety and Compliance:

Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a secure working environment. Stay informed about industry regulations and compliance requirements related to lens manufacturing processes. Requirements High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical education or certification in optics or a related field is advantageous. Proven experience as a Lens Surface Technician or similar role in a lens manufacturing environment. Proficiency in operating lens shaping and polishing equipment. Detail-oriented with a strong focus on quality control. Ability to interpret and follow technical specifications and prescriptions. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot equipment issues. Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with a team. Ability to stand entire shift
