Job Description
Seeking an office professional for the position of Clinical Technician in an Optometry office setting at our location ofNewberry, SC. Duties to include the pre-testing and prepping of patients prior to their eye exam with the Optometrist. Also includes the performance of various testing and screenings using various equipment as well as hands-on communication and electronic documentation of findings of results and testing in a very detailed manner. Candidate might be asked to commute between our main office in uptown Greenwood, SC and our satellite office of Newberry, SC based on the scheduling of patients at those office locations and in case an employee needs coverage. Prior experience in a nursing or optometric setting is preferred, but not required. Must be willing to communicate with patients in a kind and friendly manner and be willing to gain an understanding of the various tests and procedures in order to help answer questions patients may have regarding their vision and the purpose of the tests performed. Must also be a team player willing to communicate openly with the optometrist and with Receptionist and Optical staff as well as administration in a sometimes fast-paced, but positive environment. Seeking individuals eager to learn and grow and help other staff when needed so all can work together and create a bright environment. Would need to be trustworthy as it may involve occasionally transporting mobile equipment, products, and documents between some of the offices. Knowledge of medical record technology, eye care, glasses or contact lenses, vision and medical insurance, and documenting electronically is a plus, but is not required. Bilingual Spanish candidates are highly encouraged to apply. Experience in some Front Desk/Medical Receptionist position is definitely a plus as we encourage cross training and encourage coordination between employees to ensure adequate coverage if someone is out of the office due to emergency.
