Galo Eye Care Centers-Del Rio is looking for an Optometric Technician/Assistant, but will be cross-trained in all aspects of Optometric care. Must be dependable, able to provide excellent customer service and have proficiency in computer/typing skills. Prior experience in a medical setting is recommended, but not essential. We are willing to train hardworking, knowledge-hungry individuals. Bilingual (Spanish) required. Responsibilities include, but not limited to: Assisting the doctor with procedures Teaching patients how to use and handle contact lenses Patient preliminary testing Scheduling and confirming patient appointments over the phone & online Checking in patients & verifying insurance eligibility Update demographic and insurance information as needed in the system Maintain forms and office supplies as required for front desk activities
