Responsibilities:

• Perform preliminary tests on patients, including visual acuity, color vision, and depth perception.
• Assist with patient intake and record medical history.
• Prepare examination rooms and equipment for optometrist.
• Perform diagnostic tests, such as tonometry and retinal imaging.
• Educate patients on contact lens insertion, removal, and care.
• Assist with frame selection and fitting of eyeglasses.
• Process sales transactions and handle retail math calculations.
• Maintain accurate and organized medical records using electronic systems like Epic.
• Follow medical coding and billing procedures for insurance claims.

Requirements:

• Previous experience working in a front desk or customer service role preferred.
• Strong sales skills with a focus on providing excellent customer service.
• Familiarity with retail sales systems and processes.
• Knowledge of medical coding and billing procedures is a plus.
• Experience working with pediatric patients is desirable.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
