Overview We are seeking a dedicated, experienced, and detail-oriented Optometric Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care and support in an optometric setting. This position requires a blend of technical skills, customer service, and a passion for eye health. As an Optometric Technician, you will assist in various clinical tasks, ensuring a smooth workflow and enhancing the patient experience. Must be willing to be cross-trained in other areas of the office and an energetic team player. Duties Perform preliminary eye exams and gather patient history, including vital signs. Assist the optometrist during examinations by preparing instruments and equipment. Utilize aseptic techniques to maintain a clean and safe environment. Manage front desk responsibilities, including scheduling appointments and handling patient inquiries. Process medical billing and insurance claims accurately. Provide education to patients regarding eye care products and services, promoting sales when appropriate. Work with pediatric patients, ensuring a comfortable experience for children during their visits. Maintain knowledge of physiology related to vision and eye health to assist in patient assessments. Operate electronic health record systems such as Officemate for efficient documentation.

Experience Candidates should possess:

Previous experience as an Optometric Technician or in a similar healthcare role is preferred. Familiarity with ophthalmology practices and procedures is advantageous. Strong communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with patients of all ages. Basic understanding of medical billing processes and insurance protocols.
