An Ophthalmic Technician makes prescription eyeglasses and contact lenses by cutting and shaping lenses according to individual prescriptions. May make lenses for other optical equipment, such as telescopes or microscopes. Works in medical equipment manufacturing facilities and laboratories, retail stores, or in the offices of optometrists and physicians.

Job Description

Part time and Full time position available for an optometric technician at a busy practice next to an optical retailer. Front desk responsibilities include greeting patients as they come into the office and ask about their eyecare needs, verify insurance benefits, collect copays, schedule appointments, check-in and check-out patients. Technician responsibilities include performing all prescreening tests before the doctor see's the patient and entering all information into our EHR system. All employees are trained to perform front desk and technician duties. Since the candidate will be working with patients directly, a friendly, enthusiastic, and self-motivated individual is ideal for this position.
Qualifications:
  • Must be available to work flexible hours, including some weekends and evenings.
  • Must have reliable transportation.
  • Must have high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience is considered a plus, but we will train candidates with no experience if they show promising work ethic and a positive attitude.

  • Compensation will depend on experience.
