The Optometry Technician plays an essential role in supporting optometrists by facilitating smooth daily clinic operations and ensuring high-quality patient care. In this entry-level position, you will be responsible for preparing patients for their exams by greeting them, gathering detailed medical and vision histories, and verifying current medications. You will perform preliminary eye screenings—such as testing visual acuity, checking eye pressure, and conducting auto-refractions—while also helping educate patients on basic care, including contact lens insertion and removal. Additionally, you will maintain clinical standards by cleaning and calibrating diagnostic equipment and keeping exam rooms fully stocked. When needed, you will also assist with administrative tasks, including data entry, scheduling appointments, and providing front-desk support.
