Do you enjoy working in a fast-paced, patient-focused environment? Specialty Eyecare Centre, the office of Dr. Howard Barnebey is looking for a dedicated Ophthalmic Technician to join our team!

Key Responsibilities:

Assist in preparing patients for eye exams, including obtaining medical histories, measuring visual acuity, and performing preliminary diagnostic tests such as tonometry, visual field testing, and retinal imaging. Operate and maintain ophthalmic equipment such as autorefractors, slit lamps, and fundus cameras. Support the ophthalmologist by documenting exam results, charting patient information, and providing accurate reports. Educate patients about pre and post-operative care, as well as general eye health. Ensure patient comfort and provide a friendly, professional environment. Sterilize instruments and maintain cleanliness of exam rooms.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree or certification in ophthalmic technology preferred. Previous experience as an ophthalmic technician or in a similar medical role is a plus, but we are willing to train the right candidate. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Attention to detail and ability to handle medical equipment with care. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
