Full Job Description Pay:
$23.00 - $28.00 per hour Job description: At Pacific Northwest Retina we deliver state of the art and compassionate retinal care for our patients! Because of our rapid growth, we're searching for an Ophthalmic Technician or Medical Assistant to join our team. Full time positions are available and we're willing to train CMA's who have the desire to learn ophthalmic skills.
SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS
Fluency in typing / proficiency with computers Demonstrated ability to multitask &; work in a fast paced environment Demonstrated ability of managing tasks involving high level of detail & excellent Written/Verbal Communication Skills Professionalism and common courtesy at all times Ability to work well in a strong team setting
DAILY RESPONSIBILITIES/ TASKS
Patient history: History of Present Illness (HPI), previous medical history, social history, family history Obtain and update patient medication lists Obtain and record Vital Signs Perform diagnostic imaging (CMA's will be trained to assist with fluorescein angiography testing) Administration of Eye Drops, Performs Visual Acuity Testing, Pupillary Exam, Tonometry, Extraocular Muscle Function testing (EOM), and Confrontation Visual Field Testing Facilitate a smooth clinical workflow by rooming patients/preparing in-office procedures (laser / injections) Provide patient education support Triage patient phone calls Cleaning instruments using standard sterile processes Cleaning, stocking inventory, opening/closing exam rooms Other administrative tasks as needed
EDUCATION
High School Diploma COA preferred
EXPERIENCE
Previous experience in a medical setting (Ophthalmology/ Optometry experience preferred but not required)
