Job Description
Job Summary Optometry Clinic in the East End community is seeking an experienced optician. The clinic is almost 2 years old and conveniently located 20 minutes from downtown Little Rock, Benton, Bryant, Sheridan, and White Hall. We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Optician to join our team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in providing exceptional eye care services to our patients. As an Optician, you will be responsible for fitting, adjusting, and repairing eyewear while building strong relationships with each patient. Your expertise in optical measurements and patient care will enhance the overall patient experience. As a small office, we will also cross train to help at the front desk and as a technician as needed
- Duties
- Assist patients in selecting appropriate eyewear based on their needs and preferences.
- Perform optical measurements, including pupillary distance and fitting heights.
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Educate patients on eyewear maintenance and proper usage.
- Collaborate with ophthalmologists and optometrists to ensure seamless patient care.
- Ensure the optical area is clean, organized, and adheres to aseptic techniques.
- Stay updated on optical trends, products, and advancements in the field.
- Answer phone calls and schedule appointments.
- Verify insurance and file claims as necessary.
- Experience
- Previous experience as an Optician is required.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and vital signs is advantageous.
- Familiarity with electronic health record systems is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills are essential for success in this role.
