Ocean Park Optometry is a highly respected private practice in Santa Monica with a great reputation and a loyal following, and we are scaling. We are seeking an experienced, skilled Optician who will be great at elevated customer service and efficient with processing of back office work. This is a role for someone who takes pride in the patient experience and in the details that make it seamless. Our patients come to us for the extraordinary: dry eye treatment, myopia management, scleral lenses, advanced diagnostic imaging, and curated luxury eyewear, all delivered with warmth and personal attention. Who You Are An experienced, skilled optician who is knowledgeable in optics, lenses, and eyewear Updated in eye care technology and products, and excited by what is new Computer savvy and able to learn new software quickly Great at elevated customer service, making every patient feel valued and well cared for Efficient with processing of back office work, with orders, claims, and records always in order Professional in demeanor and speech, with a polished presence that reflects our practice Driven by a sense of urgency in helping patients in a timely manner Committed to follow through with orders and claims from start to finish A team player with a positive attitude Knowledgeable and able to follow our procedures, and eager to bring new ideas for improvement Ready to participate fully in the growth of our practice A great work ethic, and reliable in every sense of the word What You Will Do Guide patients through frame styling and lens recommendations tailored to their lifestyle, visual needs, and personal style Present and educate patients on premium lens technology and specialty products with confidence Deliver concierge level service from the first hello to the final fitting Perform optical dispensing, adjustments, repairs, troubleshooting, and frame fittings Process orders, track jobs, verify benefits, and manage claims with accuracy and timely follow through Keep patients informed at every step so no one is left waiting or wondering Work confidently across our practice management software, ordering platforms, and insurance portals Collaborate closely with our doctors and clinical team to ensure exceptional patient care Share ideas that strengthen our systems, our service, and our growth What We Are Looking For Optical experience required Experience with vision insurance claims and back office optical processing strongly preferred Experience with luxury eyewear and premium lens products strongly preferred Experience in private practice or a medical/professional environment preferred ABO certification preferred but not required What We Offer Competitive pay, based on experience Sundays and Mondays off A beautiful, technology driven practice in Santa Monica A team that values excellence and kindness in equal measure Leadership that welcomes your ideas and invests in your growth As our practice grows, you grow with us.
