Job Description

We are looking for a new team player to join the Simi Optometric family as a dispensing optician. Our ideal candidate is someone who is excited to work with the public and understands the patient always comes first. The optician should have the ability to multitask while focusing on small details. This position will require someone with excellent time management skills and someone who is dependable. We are looking to fill this position immediately. Please send a copy of your resume with references for consideration. Training on office software and procedures will be provided.
JOB AVAILABLE
Dispensing Optician Full time: 34-40 hrs/week Availability should include two Saturdays a month. Optician experience is required . Salary is TBD, based on experience. Benefits include 401 k with 3% matching, paid holidays, and paid vacation.
JOB DUTIES
Assist patients with choosing new frames and dispensing orders Work with patients to find the appropriate materials for their intended need of glasses to insure best vision Troubleshoot minor issues and escalate to eye doctor when necessary Serve as quality assurance for incoming lenses from outside labs Monitor frame boards to ensure displays are organize and full Greet patients, check patients in and out for their appointment. Assist patients with scheduling appointments via email, phone and in person Collect copays and balances for patients Answer phones and assist patients with inquiries regarding orders and appointments. Verify patient's insurance and assist patients with understanding their benefits Assist patients with pre-examination testing Assist patients with obtaining their medical records Assist in maintaining the cleanliness of the office Proficiency in MS Windows Able to type 40 WPM Ability to sit/stand for entire shift Ability to lift, push, pull and carry items 20 pounds on a regular basis All other duties assigned by the office manager
