We are looking for someone who is reliable, a self-starter, and outgoing to join our team. We strive for excellent customer service. We don't just want to sell, but really get to know our patient's and take care of their individual needs, while providing a memorable experience that will have them returning to our office year after year for their eyewear needs. In order to do this, we are looking for someone with a very cheerful, outgoing personality, with excellent communication skills. The optician/pre-tester we are looking for must be able to multi-task and not be easily overcome by a busy sales floor. Key requirements for position : 1. Candidate must feel confident being able to style patients. Often the optician must pull several frames off the wall and guide the patient through the frame selection process. 2. Ability to dispense and adjust glasses to patient's satisfaction. 3. Knowledgeable about lens designs, materials, and coatings, with an ability to troubleshoot. (including use of lensometer) 4. Knowledgeable about vision insurance plans and how to bill for glasses, contacts, and exams. 5. Assist with front desk intake procedures, such as consents for optos, dilation, etc and gather information from the patient regarding their personal history to ensure accurate patient records. 6. Perform preliminary tests including vital signs measurement, eye refraction, tonometry (pressure measurement), and other ophthalmic diagnostic imaging as directed. 7.

Operate medical equipment such as:

Auto Refractor, Optos, I-Care, NCT, Visual Field, OCT, and electronic health record (EHR) systems with precision and adherence to clinical confidentiality policies. 8. Maintain patient confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations while managing sensitive medical records and documentation. 9. Ensure a clean, aseptic environment by following proper aseptic techniques during testing and equipment operation. 10. In down time assist front desk with scheduling appointments, updating patient information, and verifying insurance, along with collecting copays and fees upon completion of patients examine 11. Experience with contact lens trainings, insertion and removal and explain overall contact lens care to the patient. Overall, this person must be able to follow instructions and work independently. Strong communications skills are a MUST! Must be able to engage with patients and make sure they are leaving with a well-fitted pair of glasses (or 2) to fit their needs.
