This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Licensed Optician, as well as an Optical Assistant who is looking to grow their skills and career in the optical field. Responsibilities Assist patients with selecting frames, lenses, and eyewear options Provide knowledgeable and personalized optical recommendations Take accurate measurements, including PD and other necessary measurements Assist with frame adjustments, repairs, and troubleshooting eyewear issues Take and verify optical measurements and ensure orders are accurate Prepare and dispense completed eyewear Review eyewear with patients and ensure proper fit and comfort Communicate with optical laboratories regarding orders, remakes, and adjustments Assist patients with questions regarding lenses, coatings, materials, and frame options Maintain an organized, clean, and professional optical area Assist with inventory management, frame displays, and merchandising Provide excellent customer service throughout the patient's visit Work closely with doctors, technicians, and other members of the office team Follow office procedures and maintain patient confidentiality Perform other duties as needed to support the optical and overall office workflow Qualifications Licensed Optician Current Florida Optician License preferred/required for licensed optician position Previous optical experience Strong knowledge of frames, lenses, measurements, and optical dispensing Excellent communication and customer service skills Ability to troubleshoot fitting and eyewear issues Strong attention to detail and accuracy Optical Assistant Previous optical, optometry, medical, or customer-service experience preferred Willingness to learn optical terminology, products, measurements, and procedures Positive attitude and professional appearance Strong communication and organizational skills Comfortable working directly with patients Ability to work effectively as part of a team The Ideal Candidate We are looking for someone who is: Dependable and punctual Friendly and professional Patient-focused A strong communicator Detail-oriented and organized Comfortable working in a fast-paced medical/optical environment A team player who is willing to help wherever needed Interested in building a long-term career with our practice Optical experience is a plus, but we are willing to train the right candidate for an Optical Assistant position.
