Job Description
Patient Care Coordinator / Optical Stylist Eyes on Southern - Royal Palm Beach, FL Eyes on Southern is a growing private optometry practice seeking a personable, organized and motivated Patient Care Coordinator / Optometric Assistant . This is not simply a front-desk position. We are looking for a versatile team member who is interested in patient care, optometric assisting, contact lenses, myopia management and the optical/fashion side of eye care. Previous optometry, ophthalmology or optical experience is preferred. We are willing to cross-train the right individual who has a strong background in one of these areas and is motivated to learn the others. Responsibilities Scheduling, phones and patient communication Medical and vision insurance verification and benefit submission Patient check-in/check-out and payment collection Optometric pretesting and diagnostic testing Contact lens ordering and patient coordination Teaching contact lens insertion and removal Assisting with myopia management, specialty contact lenses and Ortho-K Learning and assisting with specialty technologies and services, including Neurolens Coordinating referrals, records and patient follow-up Assisting with optical sales, frame selection and premium lens recommendations Dispensing and adjusting eyewear Helping maintain an organized and efficient patient experience from arrival through checkout Who We're Looking For Experience in any of the following is especially helpful: Optometric or ophthalmic assisting Optical sales, dispensing and frame adjustments Contact lens insertion/removal training Ortho-K or myopia management Vision and medical insurance Premium or luxury retail sales You do not need experience in every area. We are looking for someone with a strong foundation who is enthusiastic about becoming cross-trained. An interest in fashion and eyewear is important, as this position will participate in our high-end optical and learn to confidently present premium eyewear, lens technology and specialty services. The ideal candidate is dependable, warm, detail-oriented, comfortable multitasking, confident with patients and willing to take initiative.
