Alongside our Norwalk location, Elite Eye Care, PC has a thriving practice in Waukee and two evolving private optometry practices in Ankeny. Occasional travel to Ankeny and Waukee locations will be necessary but the home base would be in Norwalk. We are customer-centric, supportive and innovative.

Monday-Thursday 7:45-5:30 Friday 7:45-2:00 •May vary based on department Optical Team Member- Job Description Clinical Optician Guide patients through the selection and fitting of new glasses or sunglasses. Utilize effective and thoughtful questioning to understand patient needs, lifestyle as well as budget in order to maximize time spent with patients. Interact directly with patients to dispense their eyewear and educate them on the care of their new eyewear with an emphasis on highlighting product features and quality. Provide support with frame adjustments and repairs, and check in completed eyewear to ensure everything was ordered and received correctly before notifying patients. Help troubleshoot any concerns with their selections, and assemble or mount lenses into frames as needed. Assist doctor in exam room by scribing into our EHR system, absorbing optical recommendations and applying them to the complete and individualized optical experience for each patient. Check In/Out Welcome patients and visitors by greeting them. Interface with patients and balance a manageable patient flow during check-in and check-out procedures. Maintain an understanding of all accepted insurance plans and benefits. Collect all copayments, deductibles and fees due at the time of appointment. Run necessary reports at the close of each business day to reconcile cash drawer/credit card transactions and submit accurate report/deposit information to the Optical Director. Actively pursue strategies to increase patient retention through pre-appointment process. Team Player Contribute to a positive patient experience by ensuring the office appearance and process of care from greeting to retention consistently exceeds patient expectations. Exhibit the values of the optometry practice through communicating gratitude, value of products and services and transparent billing procedures. Provide back-up for incoming calls, patient scheduling, greeting patients, and providing for other duties within your department as well as other eyecare duties as needed within alternat departments.
