Job Description

Marineau Eye Care is looking for an experienced Optician to join our established, patient-focused optometry practice. We are seeking someone who is knowledgeable, dependable, and enjoys building relationships with patients. This position is an important part of our team, working closely with our optometrist and staff to provide patients with an excellent experience from their eye exam through the selection and dispensing of their eyewear. What You'll Do Assist patients with frame selection and provide personalized eyewear recommendations Educate patients about lens options, materials, coatings, and frame choices Take accurate optical measurements and prepare eyewear orders Verify prescriptions and ensure orders are accurate Dispense, adjust, and troubleshoot eyewear Help patients with fit, comfort, and optical concerns Maintain an organized and inviting optical area Assist with frame inventory and optical merchandising Build lasting relationships with patients and provide excellent customer service Work as part of a small, close-knit team in a medical optometry practice What We're Looking For Previous optician experience strongly preferred Strong knowledge of ophthalmic lenses, frames, measurements, and optical terminology Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Detail-oriented and organized Professional, dependable, and able to work independently Comfortable educating patients and making thoughtful eyewear recommendations Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a busy practice ABO certification is a plus, but not required What We Offer Established, independent optometry practice Small, supportive team environment Opportunity to develop meaningful, long-term relationships with patients Competitive compensation based on experience Vision and Eye Care benefits Paid time off 401(k) plan with employer match available after one year
Schedule:
Monday-Thursday (30 hours/week)
